My Favorite Place İn Gaziantep 2

Hello Everyone

In this post I am going to tell about My favorite place in Gaziantep 2

First of all, I think it is liked it because it has a kot of views and that’s why I wanted to blog you one more about this series❤️

It’s called “Zeugma Mosaic Museum “

It is a very important museum in Gaziantep, which is the second largest mosaic museum in the world, with a mosaic of 1700 square meters.

Gaziantep Zeugma Mosaic Museum is a favorite of art historians, archaeologists, and history and culture enthusiasts. Has a wealth alone could create a reason to visit Turkey

It is known as the largest mosaic museum in the world in terms of both the size of the building and the area covered by the exhibited mosaics. In addition, the fact that the mosaics reflect a superior artistic taste and contain examples of Late Antique Churches, Early Syriac and Christian iconography makes the museum even more attractive.

Apart from the mosaics excavated from the Zeugma Ancient City, one of the most important archaeological discoveries of our age, covering an area of 2,500 square meters and constituting the peak point of art in this period, it is also possible. It is possible to see sculptures, columns and fountains belonging to the Roman Period in the museum.

All of the mosaic panels in the museum are works of great craftsmanship. In addition to the fact that some of them are made of exactly 500 thousand pieces, the realism and vitality of the figures are also admirable.

However, the most important work of the museum is not these very large panels, but M.S. It is the Gypsy Girl Mosaic from the 2nd century.

The sad expression in the eyes of the figure, which constitutes the only remaining part of the floor mosaic of the dining room in the Villa of Maenad, made this mosaic the most admired find of the museum and made it the symbol of the ancient city and the museum by being named the Mona Lisa of Zeugma.

It’s My favorite place in Gaziantep because It is a historical place and I liked it very much🤩
